So your considering buying gold for World of Warcraft but are afraid of getting your account banned by Blizzard. You've heard that thousands of WoW accounts are banned each month and are afraid it could be you. Listen ... most of those players got their accounts banned because they did not proceed with caution and probably did foolish things that got them on Blizzard's radar. I personally have bought gold for World of Warcraft for nearly a year and let me tell you, not a single GM has ever contacted me or a single account ever got banned. You want to know why? Three words: Caution, Patience and Silence. Caution: Practice caution when buying gold by knowing which merchant to buy from. When I found merchants that I could trust, I stuck when them. This is why I only buy WoW gold from merchants that are listed in my Gold Merchant Reviews. The web is crawling with dishonest gold merchants that will take your money without any real promise that they will deliver on the gold. Patience: Once you've decided where to buy the gold, a very important factor is how much should you buy? If your answer is: "As much as I need" then you need to rethink your approach. Players that buy gold in large amounts are often the first to be banned because large gold transactions appear on GM logs and are spotted more quickly. Blizzard GM employees are constantly looking for gold buyers and you don't want to be one of them. To avoid this, you need to buy gold in moderate amounts of less than 5,000 gold. So how much gold should you buy at one time? I myself normally I wouldn't go over 2,000 to 3,000 gold per order. This is because there are few items in the World of Warcraft economy that are worth over 3,000 gold and players buying large quantities might be looked at more closely by GMs. Also if you only need a few hundred gold (most sites sell 500 gold at the minimum) then go a head and buy another 500 gold if you feel you might need to buy gold again in the near future (span of 2-3 weeks). The reason for this is that if you buy gold very frequently in small amounts, you may raise suspicions of GMs. One other word of advice is to talk to the Gold Merchant through customer support and ask them how they deliver the gold. Every gold merchant has their own way of delivering the gold. Silence This should be a given but don't tell the whole Warcraft world you bought gold. Close friends whom you trust are okay but the fewer people you tell the less likely you are to be reported. Many WoW players hate gold buyers because they consider it cheating (see Ethics of Buying Gold for more info) and will report you to Blizzard. While this doesn't mean you will be automatically banned, a GM may decide to investigate the matter. So if your planning on buying gold for World of Warcarft, keep these tips in mind and you will most likely be fine. Remember, these tips only minimize your risk of getting banned but there is always a risk. If this is your first time buying gold, then there shouldn't be much worry as Blizzard normally gives a warning or a suspension for first timers.
