| Common WoW Auction House Mistakes |
|
The auction house is by far the easiest way to make gold (although there is wait time involved). Any player regardless of experience or skill can make gold in World of Warcraft by putting their goods in the auction house. What is easier than putting an item on the auction house and finding a seller within a few hours? But many players make mistakes that prevent them from making a decent profit on the items they sold. There are several common mistakes that players make when using the auction house and I’d like to share them with you. Not Using Auction House Addons. The auction house is a massive and huge system that can overwhelm even the most seasoned Warcraft players. Do your self a favor and download Auctioneer Addon (just google it), this addon will make your life easier and will help you make the right decisions. This addon is so useful that it is probably the most downloaded addon for World of Warcraft. This addon among other things keeps track of prices for all items it comes in contact with. It will look at the current market price and suggest the best way to sell your item by undercutting the competition. With this addon you will also be less likely to make mistakes when posting items on the auction house. Posting too Much of the Same Item At Once. Lets say you have 20 stacks of Primal Water and you post all 20 stacks by undercutting the competition. After the auction period you come back and see that only half or a quarter of the primal sold. Why? Simple you are decreasing the value of the item by posting it so many times. You are essentially setting the market price and other people will start to undercut you and before you know it you have dropped the overall market price. Now most of your items did not sell, you have to sell for less and you have taken a hit on auction house posting fees. The auction house requires patience and careful calculation to maximize your profits. If you have too much of the same item, be patient and sell only 4-5 of the same item each time. Before you know it, you will have sold your entire inventory and maximized your gold. Buying Blues and Greens for Resale. This has got to be one of the most common mistakes I’ve seen by most players. Some players see a blue on the auction house for 20g and assume that they can resell if for a big profit. Although this practice is very common and you can achieve get great returns, it takes patience, forethought and practice. When considering buying a blue or green for resale, consider the possibility of not being able to sell it for a profit. This is especially true for Outland green and blue items as they are very difficult to resale and may take weeks to sell. When it comes to blues and greens to resale, do yourself a favor and stay away unless it is a twink item.
